  1. Protect your personal information: Be cautious about sharing sensitive personal details like your full name, address, phone number, workplace, or financial information. Avoid sharing this information until you've built trust with the person.
  2. Use a separate email and username: Consider using a separate email address and username for your Gatherly Connect account to maintain some level of anonymity and privacy.
  3. Join an event only if more than one person is RSVP’d.
  4. Search the event’s location and make sure it is a safe place before joining the event.
  5. Don’t join events that are held in secluded or private places.
  6. Check the event organizer’s profile prior to joining the event.
  7. Don't rush into sharing too much personal information. Trust your instincts and proceed at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
  8. Prior to joining an event, inform a friend or family member about the event including the date, time, location, and the contact information of the organizer.
  9. Respect the personal boundaries and comfort levels of others at the events. Obtain consent before taking photos, sharing personal information, or engaging in physical contact.
  10. Be mindful of your belongings and keep an eye on your personal belongings during the event, especially in crowded or busy areas. Minimize the number of valuable items you bring with you.
  11. Plan your transportation to and from the events in advance. If possible, avoid sharing personal addresses with strangers and use public transportation or a trusted ride-sharing service.
  12. If something feels off or uncomfortable, trust your instincts. If a person's behavior or requests raise red flags, it's better to end communications and remove yourself from the situation.
  13. Be cautious with alcohol consumption: If you choose to have drinks during an event or on a date, be mindful of your alcohol consumption. Stay in control and ensure you're able to make sound judgments and decisions.
